(New York, New York) – April 2019 – Fresh from its European debut at Salone del Mobile, Australian lighting design studio, Articolo will return to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York this May to present a variety of new handcrafted, artisanal lighting collections within an exhibition space designed by Studio Goss Director, David Goss. Marrying artisanal craftsmanship with contemporary engineering, Articolo’s latest collections continue the studio’s exploration of the art of the light and the luxurious pairing of materials.

“I am thrilled to return to ICFF for a third year and exhibit our new collections at a show that’s so important to the design industry,” says Articolo Founder, Nicci Green. “Our aim with these new collections was to further elevate the conversation around the art of light through transformative designs that highlight our unique craftsmanship.”

The Melbourne based studio will display a total of three new collections of wall sconces and pendants amongst items from its existing collections. New collections that will be exhibited at ICFF include:

·       Trilogy ,originally conceived as a sculptural pendant, has been reimagined as a stunning Wall Sconce, its light source concealed within a trio of mouth-blown glass orbs. Trilogy exemplifies deceptively sophisticated engineering, a hallmark of the studio’s growing body of work.

·       Banded sees Articolo marry its contemporary design philosophy with centuries-old Japanese artisanship. Each shade is produced by hand in Arita, Japan; a town famed for its porcelain and hand-painted finishes for over 200 years. These superb art forms feature a custom designed light source, tirelessly perfected for the ultimate luminescent glow.

·       Scandal is a collection of Pendants and Wall Sconces that casts a slim and finely considered silhouette. Notable for its barrel-like cuff and inlaid with exquisite Antique Brass Mesh or Latte Leather, Scandal’s elongated proportions are capped end-to-end by rounded glass that conceals the light source, exemplifying the quiet brilliance of artisanal glass and metalwork.

The brand’s booth will feature a simple monochromatic palette of matte pale grey in order to emphasize the unique patterns and movements that reflect an unparalleled shadow play of light emitted from each new collection. Details such as antique mesh brass, mouth-blown glass orbs and hand-painted finishes will be further accented by the booth’s architectural yet quiet design.

Articolo’s latest collections and more will be on display at booth no. 1967 during ICFF in New York from May 19 – 22, 2019. Beginning May 13, 2019, the brand’s collections can also be viewed at its first international showroom located in New York at 1133 Broadway, Suite 1226, open by appointment only.
